Three people were killed on Saturday morning when a single-engine plane crashed in Tennessee, officials confirmed. The Mooney M20TN aircraft went down south of Upper Cumberland Regional Airport in Sparta, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration. The victims were identified as pilot Jonathan Braun and married couple Dylan Clay Davis and Kelsie Lynn Davis from Alabama. The airport director, Dean Selby, stated that the plane was descending into the airport when it crashed. Search teams, including emergency management, fire and rescue personnel, and volunteers, located the crash site in a remote area after an aerial search. Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident. Sparta is located approximately 96 miles southeast of Nashville. Several fatal small plane crashes have occurred in recent weeks, including incidents in Minnesota, New York, Nebraska, and Illinois.
