A Massachusetts mother of four, Carolyn Sanger, tragically fell to her death while hiking with her family at a natural landmark in Massachusetts. The incident occurred on Wednesday, and authorities reported that Sanger, 49, plummeted 50 to 75 feet at the Purgatory Chasm State Preservation around 2 p.m. during the hike with her children and other relatives. Family friend Tim Paoli stated to Boston 25 that they believe it was an accidental fall due to a loss of footing. Despite efforts from medical professionals who were also hiking in the area, Sanger, from Topsfield, was declared dead at the scene. The authorities are investigating the incident but suspect it was a tragic accident. Sanger was remembered as a bright light, a selfless mother, and a friend to all in a GoFundMe post, stating that she passed away doing what she loved with her loved ones. Sanger, who previously worked as an oncology nurse, had transitioned to running a wellness business, as mentioned on the fundraising page. Her husband, Michael Sanger, described her as an amazing person who brought light into many people’s lives. The couple, who met in college, was approaching their 20th wedding anniversary in September.
