‘Central Park Five’ Raymond Santana Discusses Defamation Case Against Trump

Raymond Santana, a member of the Central Park Five who were wrongly convicted, is pleased that a federal judge rejected President Donald Trump’s attempt to dismiss the defamation lawsuit they filed against him.

In an interview with TMZ in Harlem, NYC, Raymond highlighted Trump’s longstanding hostility towards them since 1989 when Trump advocated for their execution in newspaper ads. The judge’s ruling supports their decision to sue Trump, emphasizing his lack of remorse and continued accusations of their guilt, even during the 2024 presidential debate with Kamala Harris.

The Central Park Five were teenagers wrongly accused of assaulting and raping a jogger in New York. Despite confessing under police pressure and later retracting their statements, they were convicted in trials. Their convictions were overturned in 2002 after another individual confessed to the crime.

Raymond is confident that the court sees through Trump’s falsehoods and believes they have a strong case. Alongside his fellow exonerees, he is suing Trump for defamation and emotional distress, seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Raymond is determined to hold Trump accountable and ensure justice prevails in their legal battle.
