Kristin Oliver has been appointed as the new Chief Human Resources Officer at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, succeeding Malaika Myers. Oliver will assume her new position starting May 12, 2025.
Following a leadership change announcement by Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Malaika Myers, who has been with the company for seven years, will retire as Chief Human Resources Officer at the end of May 2025. Kristin Oliver, known for her experience in C-suite roles at HanesBrands, Walgreens, Chico’s, and Walmart, will take over from Myers on May 12, 2025. Oliver has shown strong leadership in human resources over the past 15 years at major consumer brands. In her new role at Hyatt, she will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s global HR strategy to support future growth.
Mark Hoplamazian, President and CEO of Hyatt, expressed his excitement about Oliver’s appointment, praising her vast experience and purpose-driven approach, which will be crucial as Hyatt transitions into a more brand-focused and agile organization. Oliver will be moving from North Carolina to Hyatt’s global headquarters in Chicago in the upcoming months.
Hoplamazian also recognized Myers’ significant contributions to Hyatt, highlighting her dedication to the company’s values and her efforts in promoting open discussions about mental health, which have had a lasting impact on Hyatt’s culture. Under Myers’ leadership, Hyatt’s global Opportunity Youth program RiseHY is close to reaching its target of 10,000 hires.
