A man from Ohio faces charges of felonious assault for allegedly deliberately hitting a construction worker twice near an intersection in northern Ohio. According to records from the Oregon Police Department obtained by Equipment World, Kenneth Shinaver, 61, of Oregon, Ohio, was taken into custody on April 1 following a report of a disorderly driver. A worker’s statement claimed Shinaver was honking his horn and bypassing halted traffic near a construction area in his 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. The worker, who was controlling traffic with a stop sign, tried to prevent Shinaver from entering oncoming traffic and was struck twice by Shinaver’s SUV, though he was unharmed. Shinaver also verbally abused the worker before fleeing the scene. Police arrested him later at an apartment complex nearby. Shinaver faces multiple charges, including felonious assault, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business.
