NASCAR is returning to Rockingham Speedway this weekend as the Cup Series takes a break for Easter. The lower series will be racing at one of NASCAR’s oldest tracks, marking The Rock’s comeback after a ten-year hiatus. The NASCAR Xfinity Series will be taking the spotlight on Saturday with the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 race, following an exciting NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event won by Tyler Ankrum on Friday night.
Martin Truex Jr., driving the #56 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Toyota, was spotted in the garage area during practice for the Daytona 500. The last Xfinity Series race at Rockingham Speedway was in 2004, won by Jamie McMurray. Notably, only a few drivers from that race are still active in NASCAR, including Martin Truex Jr., Mike Harmon, Greg Biffle on a part-time basis, and Kyle Busch, who remains a full-time Cup Series racer.
Kasey Kahne will be returning to NASCAR this weekend, driving the No. 33 car for Richard Childress Racing after retiring early due to health issues. To catch the action, tune in to the CW network on Saturday for the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 and stream it live on Fubo with a free trial.
