Police reported on Tuesday that they discovered the remains of a missing woman from Washington state, who was found encased in concrete. The woman’s former handyman, a former pastor with a history of child sex crimes, was taken into custody in connection with the case.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office received a missing person report for 82-year-old Marcia Norman on April 4 after her family had not heard from her since April 1. Deputies found suspicious circumstances at Norman’s home and discovered that she had dinner with her handyman, Jeffrey Kian Zizz, on the evening of April 1.
Zizz was said to have built a shed at a different property in Olympia the day after Norman was reported missing. Investigators later found Norman buried under the shed and partly covered in concrete.
Zizz was arrested in Missoula, Montana, on a separate sex offense and was brought back to Washington. He is being held in Thurston County Jail on a no-bail hold for a child molestation sentencing violation warrant.
Zizz, who previously served as a pastor at Calvary Chapel of North Thurston, had been convicted in 2022 on multiple charges related to child molestation. He was sentenced to prison but was released into a treatment program with probation requirements.
Zizz is considered the main suspect in Norman’s death but has not been formally charged. The investigation is ongoing.
