Spirit Airlines announces new CEO

In 2021, a Spirit Airlines plane departed from St. Louis for Los Angeles at Lambert International Airport. A new CEO has been appointed by Spirit Airlines as it emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. David Davis, 58, who previously worked as the chief financial officer and a board member of Sun Country Airlines, has been welcomed as the new president and CEO by Spirit Airlines Chairman Robert Milton. With a wealth of experience in the airline industry, Davis is expected to lead the airline’s transformation after a period of layoffs, aircraft sales, and route restructuring. He will receive an annual salary of $950,000 along with a $4 million signing bonus. The airline aims to revamp its flight rewards program under Davis’s guidance to attract more customers in a challenging travel industry climate.
