Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Garner and more A-listers pose with Holocaust survivors to raise awareness

Celebrities such as Cindy Crawford took part in a project called “Borrowed Spotlight,” where they posed with Holocaust survivors like Ella Mandel. Photographer Bryce Thompson organized the initiative to raise awareness about this dark period in history. The portraits will be displayed at Detour Gallery on April 22 in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Stars like Jennifer Garner, Billy Porter, and others also participated in the project, posing for photos with survivors like Gabriella Karin and Andrew Stern. The exhibition will showcase these portraits along with survivor stories and interactive components to educate the public about the Holocaust.

Jenna Dewan, who was paired with survivor Risa Igelfeld, described the experience as humbling and life-changing. Dewan mentioned that dancing and hearing Risa sing were enjoyable aspects, but learning about the horrors she endured during the Holocaust was challenging.

The project aims to shed light on the Holocaust, particularly considering that a significant percentage of people worldwide are unaware of it, as revealed by a recent poll by the ADL. Proceeds from the auction of prints and a coffee table book featuring the images will go to Self Help and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to support living survivors.
