Iowa Cop Arrested for Stalking Woman; He’s Also Been Sued for Sexual Harassment

An Iowa police lieutenant has been arrested for allegedly stalking a woman and is on unpaid leave while the incident is being investigated. The criminal complaint stated that Justin Keller, 42, repeatedly contacted the woman and was seen driving by her house multiple times. He reportedly entered her house without permission on Sunday. The Carlisle Police Department investigated the incidents at the request of Keller’s employer, the Indianola Police Department.

Keller, a 20-year veteran with the Indianola department, faces internal investigation as well. Indianola Police Chief Brian Sher stated that the department and the city take these allegations seriously. Court records revealed that a woman from the same police department sued Keller last year, accusing him of sending her inappropriate photos and sexually assaulting her during a night shift.

It is uncertain if the woman who filed the lawsuit is the same one Keller is accused of stalking. Keller requested a public defender and mentioned working for a non-profit that assists people with disabilities but did not disclose his police employment. The non-profit’s director clarified that Keller was not associated with their organization.
