Since 2016, this initiative has celebrated individuals worldwide who are driving sustainability in various areas such as technology, finance, and communication.
The program aims to highlight the vital role that young people play in addressing climate change, considering that the next generation will face the impacts of global warming. The IPCC Sixth Assessment Report projects a significant increase in extreme weather events for children aged 10 or younger in 2020 under a 1.5-degree Celsius global warming scenario by 2100.
Candidates for the 2025 Trellis 30 Under 30 must be under 30 years old by June 30, 2025, and have demonstrated impact in climate action between 2023 and 2025 while working for a company or organization. The selection process focuses on measurable contributions to addressing climate change and leadership qualities.
Past honorees include individuals like Dan Dinh, who promotes sustainability at Estée Lauder, Edward Freer, who led sustainability efforts at the London Stock Exchange, and Holly Funk, who optimized ship itineraries for reduced CO2 emissions at Norwegian Cruise Line.
The 2025 awardees will be announced in June 2025, showcasing a diverse group of young professionals driving change through their work. The Trellis Emerging Leaders program supports young BIPOC climate professionals, many of whom are students.
