GM taps Dell’s sustainability chief as new CSO

Cassandra Garber, who has held sustainability roles at companies like 3M, Coca-Cola, and General Electric, successfully established the sustainability team at McKesson before serving as the chief sustainability officer at Dell for four years. She will now be transitioning to the same role at General Motors, starting on Earth Day, April 22. Garber aims to drive GM’s zero-emissions vehicle strategy and implement sustainable business practices. She emphasized the importance of sustainability in business and plans to continue her impactful work at GM. Despite challenges in the automotive industry, GM has made progress in reducing emissions and increasing electric vehicle sales. Garber brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having worked in various sustainability leadership positions throughout her career.
