4 Prospects New England Patriots Should Avoid With No. 4 Pick In 2025 NFL Draft

The New England Patriots have made significant changes this offseason. Head coach Jerod Mayo was let go after just one season, and former player Mike Vrabel was brought in to take over. The team also made substantial investments in free agency to enhance the roster on both offense and defense.

Now, with the No. 4 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the team has an opportunity to acquire a top prospect. Apart from quarterback, the team has multiple areas that require attention.

Today, let’s pinpoint the four prospects who may not be ideal choices for the Patriots with their top selection.

Mason Graham, a defensive tackle from Michigan, is a talented prospect, but may not be the best fit for New England. The team recently signed defensive lineman Milton Williams to a hefty deal in free agency, and Christian Barmore is a solid presence on the line. While Graham is promising, the Patriots have more urgent needs elsewhere.

Ashton Jeanty, a running back from Boise State, is another top prospect who could be considered, but the Patriots should focus on other positions. Although Jeanty brings elite talent, the team already has Rhamondre Stevenson and should prioritize areas of greater need over running back.

Will Johnson, a cornerback from Michigan, is a skilled prospect, but the Patriots have recently invested in the position with Carlton Davis II and Christian Gonzalez. While Johnson is a top cover corner, the team can address cornerback later in the draft.

Tyler Warren, a tight end from Penn State, is an exceptional pass-catching prospect. The Patriots could use more weapons in the passing game, but with Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper on the roster, selecting a tight end in the first round might not be necessary.

Overall, the Patriots have important decisions to make in the upcoming draft to address their roster needs effectively.
