The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has recently unveiled their newest addition to their active fleet, a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that was confiscated from a suspected drug dealer with the help of the Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force (DEA).
The seized Corvette has been modified to serve as a ‘State Trooper’ vehicle, with enhancements such as blue LED flashers on the front fascia, sirens, side markers, a laptop stand, and a portable radio.
The FHP shared on Facebook, “This beauty has been through some rough camera angles recently… Finally, some shots worthy of the introduction.” While the Chevy will be used for patrol missions to ensure highway safety, the FHP also mentioned that the Corvette will be displayed at various educational events to emphasize the consequences of crime.
The FHP’s new patrol vehicle is a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray powered by a 6.2L LT2 V8 engine, enabling the mid-engine car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, complete a quarter-mile in just 11.2 seconds, and reach a top track speed of 194 mph.
