david.cWorld News4 hours ago7 Views

Ten companies have been selected to compete for Denmark’s CO2 storage funding as part of the country’s efforts to meet its climate goals. The Danish Energy Agency has prequalified these companies based on their experience with carbon capture and storage projects or major infrastructure projects. The funding of DKK 28.7 billion aims to reduce Denmark’s annual CO2 emissions by 2.3 million tonnes from 2030. The Deputy Director General of the Danish Energy Agency highlighted the importance of establishing a market for carbon capture and storage in Denmark to address the climate challenge. The shortlisted companies will have the opportunity to apply for funding, with the goal of ensuring actual CO2 reductions. Final offers are expected by December 17, 2025, with contract awards planned for April 2026, pending approval from the European Commission.
